Scuba diving in Sicily
Sicily is known for its Roman ruins and beautiful hillsides. But did you also know there are some stunning diving hot spots in Sicily? Spring is perfect for immersing yourself in the warmer sea temperatures whilst experiencing the amazing underwater scenery, from the beautiful Kalura beneath a Byzantine tower to La Roche Ivre named after a boat that sank with a hold full of wine.
During late spring and early summer, the coast around Sicily is home to a great variety of fish and octopus, and even the occasional underwater archaeological treasure. If diving isn’t your thing then Sicily has plenty more on offer. When you’re not making the most of the history or the amazing cuisine, you can always just put a towel down on the beach and read a good book.
