SEASONS TO KNOW IN INDONESIA

Located close to the equator, Indonesia enjoys a hot, tropical climate. There are two seasons in which Indonesians live: the wet season and the dry season.

The wet season extends from November to April with a peak of humidity in December and January. The heat peaks and the moisture can become difficult to bear. Precipitation** is higher during this season, but it is quite possible to come and enjoy Indonesia during this period.

The dry season is from May to October**. This is the best time to go to Indonesia and avoid the monsoon. The climate is very pleasant, temperatures are mild (around 24°) and rainfall is scarcer. An ideal atmosphere to take advantage of the paradise beaches of the country. However, if you have the choice in your travel dates, favour the mid-season. Plan a departure in May or September, two ideal periods to enjoy Indonesia far from the crowds while benefiting from a particularly mild and sunny climate!

WHEN TO GO TO INDONESIA FOR WATER ACTIVITIES?

Indonesia is famous for its exceptional sea depths and its aquatic fauna with more than 3,000 species of fish: a true paradise for lovers of diving and snorkeling.

Dive with the fabulous manta rays, search for the famous mola mola fish in Bali and swim with the little reef sharks in the fabulous waters of Indonesia.
It is possible to dive all year round in the Indonesian archipelago. The Indonesian archipelago is vast and the climatic conditions vary from region to region. Be sure to check before leaving and avoid the rainy season, as visibility is not excellent. Therefore, choose the dry season for better diving conditions, whatever your level!

If you prefer the surface of the water to the abyssal depths, Indonesia is also a **world-renowned surfing spot. Choose your dates of stay in summer to benefit from the best surfing conditions. You will find better swell and more favourable conditions, even if the rest of the year is still very pleasant to tame the country's waves.

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO HIKE IN INDONESIA?

With its varied reliefs, its green mountains and volcanoes, the Indonesian archipelago is a great playground if you like hiking. The country's ragged paths are a paradise for walkers who will find their happiness on many islands of the archipelago.

To go hiking in Indonesia, it is best to go during the dry season. The paths will be more practicable, and long climbs to volcanoes and high peaks will be possible.

Climb to the top of Mount Batur in Bali or to the top of Bromo volcano in Java, one of the most beautiful volcanoes in Indonesia! Walk for hours in the rice fields, in the heart of an exceptional and luxuriant nature, meeting the inhabitants of the archipelago. The possibilities of hiking in Indonesia are endless. Between volcanoes, rice paddies, tropical forest or seaside, Indonesia is the ideal destination for a sporting holiday on the other side of the world!

You can also discover a grandiose nature as in North of Bintan, where the banks of the Sungei Sebung river shelter a mangrove populated with monkeys, otters, kingfishers and fireflies that glisten at dusk. You can also take advantage of your stay to visit an unusual site which has made the reputation of this island: the Desert of Garun Pasir Busung. This surprising expanse of white dunes conceals the Telaga Biru Lake, with its fluorescent blue waters that offer a striking contrast to this lunar landscape.

In the heart of the Bukit Peninsula, the Garuda Vishnu Kencana Cultural Park offers you an immersion in Indonesian culture. After admiring the imposing statue of the god Vishnu (120 meters high and 64 meters wide) enthroned on Garuda, a winged creature of Hindu mythology, you can explore at your leisure this park which offers traditional dance shows, exhibitions and conferences.

You can also take advantage of the dry season tropical climate to enjoy some walks in the lush forest of the archipelago. From the volcanic slopes of Mount Agung to the temples and joker monkeys hiding in the Ubud Forest: each excursion in this grandiose and preserved nature will be a highlight of your trip.

WHEN TO GO TO INDONESIA TO ENJOY ITS BEACHES?

"The south of Indonesia is a region bathed by a tropical climate. From April to October, the tourist season is in full swing. On the island of Bali, as on the eastern islands of Lombok or Suma, the average temperature during this period is 27°C, as is the water temperature. It is often this period that is recommended when one wonders when to go to Indonesia to enjoy its wonderful fine sand beaches.

In Jimbaran, you can relax in front of the calm waters that line the coast before dining in one of the seaside restaurants offering a uninterrupted view of the sunset.

Bingin or Echo Beach** are all welcoming havens for relaxation. **White, black or golden sand, water swaying from cyan to emerald: the beaches of Bali and Indonesia will surprise you with their diversity."

Waterblow, an unusual cool break

If the heat is scorching, head for the Waterblow in Nusa Dua. A paved path will lead you to a pontoon at the end of the cliff. When the waves wash ashore at the foot of the cliff, sheaves of water come to water this balcony to the delight of the holidaymakers.
