Here are eight of our finest golf resorts.

Da Balaia, Portugal

If you’re looking for fantastic golf courses in Portugal, The Algarve is the ideal place to begin. The area absolutely loves golf and boasts some of the finest courses in Europe – one of them located nearby to Club Med’s Da Balaia holiday resort. Raised high above the Atlantic, the resort features as much golf as you can play on a stunning clifftop course, as well as PGA pros to offer tips, and a golf concierge to make sure you have everything you need. And for the rest of the family, there’s a zen zone for adults, multi-lingual kids’ clubs, nightly shows, and even trapeze lessons for adults and children.

Albion, Mauritius

Mauritius may not be the first destination that springs to mind when you think of golfing holidays, but The Albion Villas on the island’s west coast has a brand new course designed by renowned Zimbabwean golfer Peter Matkovich, who’s designed over 20 leading courses around the world. The course itself sits within a beautiful nature reserve close to the sea and has a range of lessons for the less experienced golfer. Back at the hotel, when you’re not taking in the memorable scenery of the golf course, there are three restaurants to choose from, plus gym, spa, tennis, sailing and scuba diving all available.

Opio, France

With an enviable position on the French Riviera, between the sea and the mountains, the Opio en Provence golf resort in France spreads across 46 hectares of olive groves and pine forests, and includes an impressive golf course, driving range, chipping area and putting green. Just as impressive is the hotel itself, which has recently undergone a £10m renovation and now features a family-focused playground – the first in Europe. The 21,500 ft sq circus camp is where children and adults can learn basic circus skills, from flying trapeze to aerial silks, under the guidance of our trained circus staff.

Bali, Indonesia

Rest and relaxation is the order of the day in Bali, which includes the golf. There are three 18-hole, par 72 courses close to Club Med’s Bali resort, each with unique features and amazing scenery. The closest, The Bali National Golf Club, was voted Asia’s Best Golf Course in the Asian Golf Awards, and has enough creeks, canyons and native vegetation for even the most accomplished of players. If you need guidance, there are expert lessons available from a PGA pro, while the clubhouse is one of the best in the world. Back at the hotel you’re spoilt for choice between the idyllic beach and two stunning pools, one of which is a zen pool just for adults –perfect to rest beside after a challenging 18 holes.

Sandpiper, Florida

Florida is the ultimate location for golf in the sun, with the Sunshine State boasting over 1,250 courses – the highest of all the states in the USA. And one of its finest courses is at Sandpiper Bay, Club Med’s all-inclusive golf resort. It has everything you’d expect from a world class course – 18 holes of memorable play, clubhouse, driving range, practice greens, pro shop – as well as a Golf Academy that runs lessons for all levels and all ages taught by qualified golf pros. When you’re not on the course, there’s a Club Med spa, championship tennis facilities and plenty of places to relax and unwind while the kids have fun in the dedicated Kidz Village.

Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

The Punta Cana resort has an amazing setting, nestling alongside a fabulous turquoise lagoon with a 600-metre sandy beach and magnificent coconut grove. But that fantastic scenery has some competition with the two golf courses located near the resort, each boasting ocean-side greens with powder-soft sand bunkers and luscious fairways. There are plenty of hazards too, and enough advice and pointers from the team of PGA professionals to stay away from them. Other facilities back at the resort, include a pitch and putt course, practice bunker, and even an 18-hole mini-golf course for the whole family. Finally, after a day spent golfing, relax at the clubhouse at La Cana, which has its own pool and private beach.

Marrakech, Morocco

The Club Med Marrakech La Palmeraie resort is located within beautiful setting in Morocco’s oldest palm grove, and offers stunning scenery, delicious cuisine and a 9 hole golf course within the resort. The resort also offers a driving range and renowned Golf Academy offering free group lessons for all levels and private lessons (again for all levels) at extra cost. Located in the resort there is also a pro shop on hand so guest can hire any necessary equipment. Located nearby is the famous Palmeraie Golf Club that’s loved by players all over the world. Designed by American architect Robert Trent Jones Sr, the 27-hole championship course offers plenty of challenge for the more experienced golfer, with the Atlas Mountains providing a memorable backdrop. Back at the resort there’s a luxury spa, outdoor pools and a range of kids clubs, plus majestic Moroccan architecture that will take your breath away.

Trancoso, Brazil

If you fancy going somewhere a little further afield for a round of golf in the sun, then the Trancoso Club Med resort in Brazil could be right down your fairway. Set out on a clifftop with a panoramic view of the vast beach below, the golf course is regularly featured in lists of the world’s top courses, and offers some of the game’s most amazing views. When you get to Hole 14, make sure you have your camera ready – its green perched 150 feet above the water is one of the most photographed in the world. You may need a little practice before you hit the links so there’s a full compliment of driving range, practice area, practice bunker and putting, pitching and chipping greens, as well as a team of golf pros ready to offer advice or lessons.

Club Med Sun - The best all-inclusive sun holiday experience

NB: The above courses aren't inside the Club Med Resort and are at extra cost excluding the Albion Villas, which includes golf as part of the Exclusive Collection Villa Experience.
